During the United Nations General Assembly conference in New York, Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, held a meeting with General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, President of the Sudanese Sovereign Council. The discussions centered on mutual interests, the current regional challenges, and the critical need for both nations to collaborate in addressing conflicts that have hindered the progress of the region.
The two leaders also explored avenues to strengthen cooperation and deepen the longstanding fraternal ties between Somalia and Sudan. Additionally, they discussed possible solutions to the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has resulted in the loss of thousands of lives. The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both countries to work towards peace and stability in the region.
